Sudio Femtio Speaker Review with 35% Discount Code
While plans for most of us went down the drain the moment 2020 began, Sudio continued to innovate and released their first-ever Bluetooth speaker earlier this year, the Sudio Femtio!
I have previously had the privilege to try a variety of different in-ear wireless headphones from Sudio, such as their Sudio Tio, Sudio Fem, Sudio Elva, and Sudio Ett. Alike all the devices in their product line, the Sudio Femtio without fail, embodies the mark of their elegant Scandinavian design.
Design
In terms of its size and design, it is slightly larger than my JBL Flip 4 (a Bluetooth speaker I believe many Singaporeans are familiar with), measuring 19 cm x 10 cm x 8 cm. However, it feels surprisingly lightweight in my hand, weighing 675 grams.
Its fabric-covered cylinder (left) sitting atop a rectangular stand is both minimalistic and stylish, making a fantastic centrepiece on my table. At both ends of the cylinder, there are large metallic drivers which provide a refined and industrious contrast to the overall design.
There are 5 buttons on top of the Femtio which blend in with the fabric. They are distinct with rubbery tactile bumps making them easy to find with your finger (I quite like pressing them). Unlike my JBL that does not have the feature of allowing me to skip tracks, pressing the volume up or down button on the Sudio Femtio for 2 seconds allows me to jump to next or return to my previous track!
Features & Sound Quality
Connections: Bluetooth 5.0, Aux
Output power: 2 x 10 watts
Features: Pair Coupling
Waterproofness: IPX6 Ingress Protection Rating
Battery Life: 14 hours (USB-C)
As I spend hours on end composing, decorating, typing, and wax sealing for @thepoetryhive, the processes can get quite repetitive at times, but there's nothing a little background music can't fix!
The Sudio Femtio may be small but it's powerful, boasting a vivid sound at good volume that travels easily. The music is also of decent quality -- I was impressed by the strength of its bass (to me, it's not too boomy which my JBL can get sometimes). Instead, the trebles are light and pleasant!
You can also connect two of them to one device with its Dual Pairing feature for robust sonic coverage! That way, you can get a louder, more immersive sound experience if you're looking for speakers to create music that will travel throughout a large area.
A row of LEDs on the base of the Femtio lights up when you turn it on to indicate its battery life. Also, one thing I love about all of the Sudio earphones I have tried is that they automatically go into pairing mode, connecting to your device almost instantaneously when you turn them on. The Femtio speaker is no different.
At the back of the stand, the USB Type-C charging port and 3.5 mm audio port are nicely hidden under a stiff and magnetic (I think) rubber flap!
The Sudio Femtio comes in a sturdy box, including the speaker, a short USB Type-C to Type-A cable for charging, and a few pieces of documentation.

Personally, I'm deeply impressed with the design, features, and sound quality of the Sudio Femtio, however, unlike my JBL, it's the kind of speaker I'll likely just use at home and only take it out occasionally because it looks so beautiful just sitting on my table and I can't bear for it to suffer any damage.
You can get it in Black (as featured in this article), Silver, or Anthracite colours.
