Sudio Ett Review + 15% Discount Code
It comes as no surprise that this Scandinavian tech powerhouse has outdone itself once more. Introducing Sudio's latest True Wireless Earphones that come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) — the Sudio Ett!
In this Sudio Ett article review, I will be reviewing the Sudio Ett's design and features in comparison to the previous pair of earphones that Sudio sent me — the Sudio Fem. Be sure to stick around for the 15% discount code at the end of the review!
As usual, Sudio's newest earphones come in 4 different colours — White, Black, Green, and Pink. If you're on the fence on whether you should get an AirPods Pro, I came across an article by KL Gadget Guy that did a little comparison between the two making the following claim:
"In the case of the Sudio ETT, the Swedish audio company took a different approach by including most features from the AirPods Pro, elegant colour options and selling it at 40% cheaper than its rival."
Design
Similar to the Sudio Fem, the Sudio Ett comes with a matte finish too, which is useful when it comes to hiding any scratches that may occur to the earbuds or the charging case over time. However, it's no big issue but for people with the occasional sweaty palm (me), annoying fingerprints get left behind sometimes.
The Sudio Ett's earbuds have a plastic construction, and they feel slightly lighter than the earbuds of the Sudio Fem, making them more comfortable to wear for long periods. Moreover, the outer side of the earbuds displays the multi-function button that is used to activate the Active Noise Cancelling function and the controls for music and calls.
A distinct improvement in the design compared to the Sudio Fem would be that the LED indicators of the Sudio Ett are on the outside of the case. They light up the moment you plug them in, letting you know the status of the earbuds. On the other hand, the Sudio Fem's LED indicators are located inside the charging case, and you have to move the earbuds for them to light up.
Battery Life:
Of the four Sudio earphone reviews I've done, the battery life of every true wireless earphone and its cradle has been as Sudio claims. The Sudio Ett boasts the following:6 hours playtime, 4 hours with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
Total battery life: 30 hours, 4 extra charges with the carrying case
The Sudio Ett's total battery life is an upgrade from the Sudio Fem's 20 hours battery life, making it exceptionally useful as a travel companion for when lockdown measures are lifted after the coronavirus pandemic.
Though some have speculated that the Sudio Ett's charging case is slightly thicker than the AirPods' charging case, it's understandable considering the Sudio Ett houses a slightly larger battery offering more playback time. The earphones still weigh very light at 5g each and the charging case is still comfortably pocketable.
The Sudio Ett is also Sudio's first truly wireless model that features wireless charging and quick-charge with USB-C (15 mins for 1-hour playtime). Thus, you can either charge it from the USB Type-C port on the side or place the charging case on a charging pad, no cable required.
Features:
Active Noise Cancelling (ANC)
The Sudio Ett also has a couple of notable improvements and new features! The most obvious upgrade would be its excellent Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) mode. With the Sudio Ett being my first pair of truly wireless earphones with ANC, I was extremely curious as to what difference it would make on/off. Impressively, when I turned it on, it cut out like this whirring "ssshhhhhht" ambient noise almost completely! I'm not entirely sure what to expect but though it wasn't 100% space vacuum silence, the noise-cancelling effect was undeniably substantial!
You can activate the ANC by holding down the multi-function button for 2 seconds!
Right, the Sudio Ett has physical buttons which I honestly prefer over the touch surface buttons of the Sudio Fem. I didn't mention this in my previous review on the Sudio Fem because only after the first few weeks did it begin to get quite frustrating when the touch surface button didn't accurately respond to my taps. Then again it could either be attributed to personal preference or my stupid sweaty fingertips.
IPX5 Water Protection
The Sudio Ett also has features that make it great for exercise. Its earbuds are equipped with IPX5 water protection, meaning you'll be able to dance in the rain or break a sweat at the gym without worrying about getting an electric shock.
Dual-Microphone
Activated during phone calls for enhanced sound quality, the Sudio Ett's dual-microphone with transparency mode allows for clearer voice memos and phone calls due to the reduction of background noise detected by the earbuds' microphones.
